ALICE IN WONDERLAND
Chapter 7 - A Mad Tea Party by CaroAlice found the March Hare and the Hatter having tea at a table under a tree. A Dormouse set between them fast asleep and was being used as a cushion, which Alice thought uncomfortable for it. Even though the table was large, as soon as they saw her they yelled “No room! No room!” but Alice set in a large arm chair. Next thing Alice knew the March Hare and the Hatter where making riddles and later after a moment of silence the Hatter just asked what day it was. Apparently his watch was two days wrong. Alice noticed that his watch told the day of the month instead of the hour. The Hatter then asked if she had the answer to the riddle which she didn’t, making Alice ask him if he had it, to which he said “I haven’t the slightest idea.”
They then started talking about the time the Queen of Hearts had given a concert and the Hatter had to sing; he couldn’t finish the first verse and the Queen threatened to cut his head. Alice realized that it was always tea time and that this was the reason for them to have so many tea things. The March Hare got tired and voted for Alice to tell them a story. Since she didn’t know any, they both cried that the Dormouse should tell it. While the Dormouse told his story, Alice kept interrupting, and at one point after she had asked one more of her questions, the Hatter told her “Then you shouldn’t talk”. Alice thought this rude and left. Waiting to see if they were going to ask her to come back, she saw how the Hatter and March Hare were putting the Dormouse in a tea pot. Alice noticed that one of the trees had a door, stepping inside she found herself in the long hall and close to the little table again. But this time, first she grabbed the key and opened the door then nibbled at the mushroom until she was a foot high, went inside the door and finally found herself in the beautiful garden.
