The hunky Law and Order: SVU alum, 50, is indeed in talks to play a vampire on the next, fifth season of HBO's hit.
TVLine first reported the casting intrigue, noting that Meloni could play an "incredibly powerful vampire" in the supernatural smash about vampires, werewolves and other creatures in the American South. Starring Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, the hit is known for its frequent nudity and startling sex scenes.
Meloni, who departed NBC's Law & Order: SVU after 12 years last spring, is no stranger to onscreen nudity and love scenes: He dropped trou all the time on Oz, HBO's super-intense prison drama, in which he played bisexual inmate Chris Keller.
I'm happy to hear that they are casting at least one character that's not a werewolf...not that I mind some sexy weres of course.
