Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world where a powerful government called the Capitol has risen up after several devastating disasters. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the ruthless and evil Capitol randomly selects one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts, who are then pitted against each other in a game of survival and forced to kill until only one remains. Some times I use a books cover to draw me in, the title of the book doesn't always do it for me. This cover doesn't do to much for me, I find it rather boring. It's simple which I will give it that, I have read some books where the covers are all over the place and are super busy looking. At least the title of the book, 'The Hunger Games' Sounds really interesting.

This cover is a paper back version. It looks very similar to the UK one, only a different person and color is used.

United Kingdom
While I haven't read 'The Hunger Games' yet, I know the gist of it. And I think this cover does an awesome job showing off what the book is really about. It looks pretty BA if you ask me.

German
Translation: The Tribute of Panem. Fatal Games
I like how they have the girl hiding on this cover, but I don't think the drops of blood do anything for it. It looks to fake, it would have been better off with out it.

Chinese
I like the shadows on the front. Adds a mysterious feel to the book.

Portuguese
Translation: The Games of Hunger

Spanish

Polish
Translation: Olympic Death
I really like the translation!

Macedonian
Translation: Games of Famine

Which of the covers was your favorites? Least favorite?

Which cover encompassed the story the best?

I don't like the paperback/UK one. Is that Peeta on the paperback? I LOVE the German one though, and the Chinese one. I wonder why the change the titles?

Well I don't know if thats Peeta, because I haven't read the series...yet. Lol
But I can tell you that ever book normally has a name change when it comes from a different language. Some times its because they don't use that word in there langauge or that when it's put together it doesn't mean the same thing.

Hmmm - the Polish translation is an interesting one. Granted, it would sound a little ... well... funny if it was directly translated from English to Polish. The German cover is pretty.
