Chapter 7- Unhappy EndingSummaryBella and Jacob are still together in La Push. Jacob tells Bella that Quil has become a werewolf. Jacob says that most of the guys like being part of the Pack while Jacob and Sam are the bitter ones. Jacob explained that Sam was the first so he was alone when he first changed and that it was difficult for him. Sam and Leah Clearwater were together at the time and Bella had a hard time grasping that knowledge because Sam and Emily were perfect together. Leah and Sam fought a lot because he couldn't tell her what was going on. And when Sam met Emily (Leah's second cousin) he imprinted on her. Imprinting is very rare but it does happen. These two would be intertwined together forever, like absolute soul mates. So Sam was bitter about the Cullens for making him a wolf and breaking Leah's heart. Jacob also told Bella that Sam caused the scars on Emily. He was devastated, but it strengthened their love. Bella asked if anyone else imprinted and Jacob confirmed that Jared did as well. Bella remembered to ask Jacob what he was thinking that disturbed Edward the other day. Jacob told her that he was thinking about how she looked when Edward was gone. She told him not to do it again, he shrugged it off. Bella ended their reunion because she had to go to Angela's house to do graduation announcements.
On the way to Angela's house, Bella sees a silver Volvo in her rearview mirror. She continues driving to Angela's house knowing that Edward will not make a scene there. He drives by the house and she does not look at him. Angela and Bella address invites together making small talk. Angela asks if something is wrong with Bella. Bella explains about Edward and Jacob, and Angela tells Bella that Edward is probably jealous. Bella heads home and delays going into her room. When she finally does, Edward is there waiting. He is seething mad and tells Bella that he almost broke the treaty to go and get her. She fights back and tells him she is Switzerland (neutral) and will not be in the middle of the mythical creature feud. Edward tells Bella he is leaving to make up for his missed hunting trip. Bella calls Jacob and tells him she is coming over this weekend. After Bella leaves work on Thursday night, she is picked up by Alice and told that she is being kidnapped until Edward returns. She calls Jacob and cancels her plans. She then calls Edward and leaves a message saying how much trouble he will be in when he returns. Bella goes upstairs to Edwards room and sees a large bed dominating the room. She goes to the couch and tries to fall asleep. Rosalie appears in the doorway asking to speak with her.
Rosalie wants to speak with Bella to give perspective on why she wants Bella to remain human. Rosalie explains her time as a human. She was gorgeous and always wanted pretty things. She met Royce King II and she thought her life was perfect. She wanted to get married and raise a beautiful child of her own. Rosalie remembers her last night as human. She was leaving Vera's (her friend) home late and met a drunken Royce and some of his friends in the street. They raped and beat her, and left her for dead. Carlisle found her and changed her. She recalls the pain and how she heard Edward argue with Carlisle about changing her. She states that she has never tasted human blood. She did get revenge on Royce and his friends by killing them. She explains that when she came upon Emmett in danger she rescued him because he reminded her of the child she never had. Rosalie told Bella that she was jealous of her. She never wanted to be with Edward, but he never gave her the time of day and that was what she wanted from everyone. She pleads with Bella to think about her choice. The next day, Bella and Alice go to school. While Bella is talking to Mike they hear a loud roaring sound, it is Jacob on his bike. Bella runs to him and jumps on the bike. She looks back to see a furious Alice.

"Hmm," I said, trying to sound only politely interested. I was relieved, and I tried to explain this reaction to myself. You are ... well, not exactly the love of my life, because I expect to love you for much longer than that. The love of my existence. I don't care who's a werewolf and who's a vampire. If Angela turns out to be a witch, she can join the party too."
"Stupid bloodsucker," he finally muttered. "I thought he was leaving. Can't you have a life when he's gone? Or does he lock you in a coffin?"

I caught sight of Alice, frozen at the edge of the cafeteria, her eyes sparking with fury, he lip curled back over her teeth. I shot her one pleading glance.
