During the morning Ever takes a moment to figure out what sweatshirt to wear, and asking Riley for advice. This being a sure sign that Ever wants to catch Damen’s eye again, and her boring hoodies won’t do the trick, and Riley is on to her. As anxious as she was to get to class, she is very disappointed because Damen is openly flirting with Stacia. This continues through out the day, when Damen tries to get her to pass a note for him to her, Stacia, her worst enemy.
Miles and Haven are dismayed that their new lunch buddy, has finally ditched them for the cooler crowd, but they knew it would happen soon enough. Ever is confused by Damen’s behavior but by the end of the day when he isn’t in Art, she is giving up. But somehow that little note intended for Stacia makes it way to Ever’s class and the teacher makes her take it, because it’s addressed to her. The note holds a beautifully drawn red tulip….
Chapter 11
Halloween approaches and Ever along with her Aunt are throwing a costume party. Ever has a measly guest list, but she is excited. Her and Riley are in charge of decorations and Sabine is happy to let Ever go all out for the bash. She ordered tons of decorations for the party and she gets to feel normal while decorating the house with her little sister.
Halloween night arrives and everyone comes over…Ever surprises everyone with her costume, she is Marie Antoinette. Haven brings her new ‘vampire’ friend, Evangeline while Miles brings he current boy toy. Haven once again points out that Ever has stolen her man, Damen. When in fact, Ever hasn’t done anything and she is beginning to think Damen isn’t even interested. That is until he mysteriously shows up dressed like her counterpart, Count Fersen.
The party gets under way, but when Ever answers the door with Riley at her side she is met with Ava, the party’s psychic…who can see Riley and knows that Ever sees her too.
