I saw the movie this morning and loved it!!!   They did a really good job of staying very true to the book and had some interesting ways of working things out that took a while in the book to develop.   The ending point for the first installment was done perfectly as well.

I'm almost disappointed that they did not do the 3-D release because there were moments that 3-D could have just blown me away.  Nagini totally freaked me out.  If that had been 3-D, I could have very well pissed myself.  I hate snakes!!!

Everyone brought their A-game for the acting, as well.  One of my few pet peeves with Daniel Radcliffe was his on-screen crying.  It seemed too theatrical for me at the end of GoF when he brings Cedric's body back.  He really shows raw emotion in Godric's Hollow - real tears, palpable emotion.   icry   Rupert Grint and Emma Watson really shine in the film as well.

There were great comedic moments and some tear-jerkers.  I wanted to give Dobby a standing ovation in one particular scene.  When you see it, you'll know what I'm referring to.  Hermione's departure from home broke my heart.   I wish that there had been more interaction between Harry and the Dursleys before he left Privet Drive, though.

The scene of the seven Potters was absolutely hysterical and thoroughly entertaining! As Angie mentioned, the vignette when they show the story of the three brothers is really good.  It was a brilliant way to convey the story other than watching Hermione read it from the book.

The cinematography is absolutely stunning, as are the locations that they used for the shoots.  It makes me want to visit Great Britain for an extended vacation.

I am already plotting my next trip to the theater so that I can see it again. I will note that while the movie is PG, you may not want to take any little ones with you.  Nagini will scare the crap out of them!

Another fantastic HP movie! It was exactly what we've learned to expect from these adaptations, with the execption of the last film; but that's for another time. I have seen it quite a few times already and can't wait until July! I cried everytime for Dobby, I know exactly what you're talking about ifell, and they did a great job with Hermione's exit from home, which was something we didn't get detail about in the books.

I'm really impressed with the timing of it all as well. It didn't seem like you were in thr theatre for nearly 3 hours and they did a great job showing how much time was passing and I loved how EVERYONE was not their usual "put together" selves! It had just the right amount of humor and darkness and even an unexpected dance, which I though was brilliant! They looked like the same carefree kids from the very beginning again, Hermione especially!
