Season One:Episode 1: Pilot, Part OneThe very first episode of Lost is my absolute favorite episode of this season. In this episode, all of the main characters are introduced, alliances are made, and the story begins. The leadership position is quickly filled by Jack and it is obvious there are others who want nothing to do with exploring the Island. Jack, Kate, and Charlie explore the Island to find the fuselage and when they do they are faced with the biggest monster of the Island. This monster tears up the pilot so gruesomely to leave an impenetrable fear among the survivors.
Season Two:Episode 9: What Kate DidI am partial to any Kate episode because I really love this character. She is a beautiful, strong, mysterious woman who has an extraordinary past. We find out Kate's reason for being the prisoner on the plane. We got to see Kate's troubled past with her stepfather, Wayne, and why she became the strong but troubled woman up to that point. And the fact that Wayne "reincarnated" through Sawyer really added to the mystery of the Island and how it brought people's pasts back to them.
Season Three:Episode 13: The Man from TallahasseeThis episode was my favorite Locke-related one because we finally saw how Locke ended up in a wheelchair before the crash. We discover that Locke's father was a con man and Locke used to be quite a pushover (literally), and in the hopes of saving a woman from being conned he tried to warn her but his father stops him by pushing him out of a window.
This episode was great also for the fact that the Losties saw that Jack was not really being held prisoner in the Others camp. He confessed to Kate that she broke his heart and that he was getting off the Island as part of the deal to help Ben. And in the way that Lost is amazing, Locke blows up.

Season Four:Episode 4.5: The ConstantThe Constant focuses mostly on Desmond and Faraday. Desmond, Sayid and Frank are headed to the freighter on a helicopter.
Once there, Desmond starts having serious problems with time jumping and it affects his physically. I was worried he might die, but we get to see him speak to Faraday and Penny as he jumps around.
This is one of my favorite episodes because we learn a lot about time travel and the necessity of a constant. We also get to see some of Faraday's early work and experiments.
BUT my favorite part is when Des finally gets to speak to Penny. He's been dying to be with her for years and finally he gets to hear her voice. They exchange I Love You's right before they're cut off. So romantic!!!
Season 5:Episode 5.16 & 5.17, The IncidentWoot, we finally get to see Jacob face to face, to see where he lives on the island (under the statue). We also meet Jacob's nemesis who wants to kill Jacob badly. I loved the conversation between Jacob and the nemesis as we (possibly) see The Black Rock sailing toward the island.
Next, we follow Jacob as he visits Sayid, Kate, Hurley, Jack, Sawyer, Sun & Jin, Illana, Locke etc...Jacob touches each one of them, even bringing Locke back to life after his fall. We learn that Jacob can come and go from the island, that he speaks many languages and that he must have chosen the castaways.
I was excited to finally meet Jacob after numerous seasons of speaking about him. What a rush after 5 seasons, but it did bring up all new questions. Is Jacob the good guy or the bad guy? Hopefully we will get some answers in the final season.
What do you think of these episodes? Which ones were your favorites from all the seasons? What do you expect to see on the new season?
