Never Ceese by Sue Dent
Chapter 5 by Dawn


Mama tries to encourage Ceese to get along with Richard, but Ceese won't listen. Ceese admits that vampires harmed her brother, who was also named Richard, and that she worries Richard might be one of the men who harmed her brother. We find out that Ceese has come to Mama for help in breaking the "curse". Mama wants Richard and Ceese to work together to break their curses. Mama believes they can help each other.

Peter Drummond has come to speak to Richard. They exchange insults and Richard pays him for the goats. Mama intrudes, right before Richard decides to eat Peter, and she tells Peter that a wolf has been seen in the area. Peter appears to leave but listens from another room where he over hears Richard commenting about using a silver bullet on the wolves.

Do you think Richard and Ceese can get along, long enough to help each other?
It's a matter of willpower. I think that if Ceese tries a little harder and so does Richard they could actually care enough about each other to stop fighting. They just need a common goal.

What did you think of Ceese’s recounting of what happened to her brother Richard?
Poor Richard. I think it's definately interesting that Ceese has a brother named Richard.

What do you think of the things Peter overheard?
I really hate Peter. I hope that he gets what de deserves. If he harms Ceese I would kill him. I wonder how much he believes Richard tho. Werewolves are not exactlly 'real' in his world, but better safe than sorry?

Did you notice any foreshadowing in this chapter?
The stuff about Ceese's brother is very much foreshadowing.

I wasn't sure if they could manage to not kill each other at this point but it's damn funny when the bicker.

It obviously bothers her a lot even after all this time. It's clear that she blames herself.
