If starting a book, and not being able to "get right into it" and then starting another and getting a little bit into it, and start yet another that is non-fiction so I can read it at will and skip around means I read multiple books at once, then I do.
When a book really grabs me, I can't put it down and I finish it in a few days. If it doesn't, that's where the procrastination sets in.
I am the same way with books as you Erin in the fact that if I buy one (or a few) and don't start reading them right away, they collect dust until I get into a reading spurt.
If a book is one of a series and I get really into it, I MUST get the rest of the series within days and I finish the entire series in a week. That's what happened with the Sookie Stackhouse series and then Twilight series. I didn't want to get involved in that Twilight craze. Was so against it. But after book one, I wanted to know what happens next, I bought the rest of the series over that same week. When I get to the last book, I read much slower cause I knew the story ended soon.
Also, having to travel (which entails) a bus ride, plane ride, this kicks me into reading gear. I bought the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on my last trip, read it the whole plane ride, but for some reason, once I landed I haven't picked it back up again.
