My Beloved
My beloved
You rest in my soul
With the quiet strength of the moon
Shining, causing the stars in the Heavens to turn dim
The night sky to surrender on bended knee.
Your voice whispers upon my cheek
Like the sweet breath of the Almighty
Landing like the flutter of a butterfly wing
With the sweeping caress of a sunflower.
My heart wears the imprint of your face
The peculiar smile of your mouth
The hotness of your breath
The lighting of your eyes.
I bend my head beneath your chin
Your arms enclose me like wings
Tucking me securely in place
Between the silkness of your soul
And the shadows of your heart.
