The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows & Mary Ann Shaffer

I decided to take a break from the paranormal (gasp!) and decided to read this one since I have heard that it was really good. But I had a really hard time getting into it since the entire book is letters from various people and it makes it hard to keep up with who is who. It gets better later on, but still nothing I would recommend to my friends and nothing I'd read again! It was just OK to me...nothing more.
Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, Book #1) by Karen Marie Moning
Hawk is a great warrior and lover and when he even draws the attentions of the faery queen, the king gets upset and devises his own form of revenge. He has one of his servants go into the future and find a woman that would turn Hawk down, but is so beautiful that he will always long to possess her therefore torturing him.
I had high expectations of this book after reading the
Fever series, but was greatly disappointed with this lackluster storyline and boring characters...you could see all the plot "twists" if you can call them that, a mile away...
The Bodies Left Behind by Jeffery Deaver

Another break from the paranormal. This one was about a cop investigating a 9-1-1 call that was canceled, only to become a target of a couple of robbers/murderers.
I thought this book started out good, but quickly got boring, but then again I never one was for the roughing it for survival type of books.
You Suck ( A Love Story, Book #2) by Christopher Moore

The sequel to
Bloodsucking Fiends, takes us back to Jodi who has turned her boyfriend into a vampire against his will. Now they must find a new minion to do their daytime errands and dodge the police who think they've left town and the vampire that turned Jodi who they trapped that has just been released.
I found the first book in the series,
Bloodsucking Fiends, to be a surprise enjoyment. I was hoping for more of the same with this one, but unfortunately felt it was a dud.
