True Blood
Season 3 Episode 6
I Got a Right to Sing the Blues

Sookie is dragged into Russell's home and Russell declares Bill untrustworthy. Bill leaps up, grabs the banister and stakes a guard vamp. He attempts to stake Russell who then throws Bill easily. Russell laughs and says he's 3000 years old and Bill can't harm him.

Sookie starts to run to Bill's side but Eric blocks her way. Bill yells at Eric to get Sookie out of there, but Eirc instead brings Sookie directly to Russell and says “I wouldn't let go of this if I were you.   I don't know what it is, but I do know it is quite valuable.”

Sookie is confused and furious. Bill is in shock. Lorena asks about Bills fate and Russell orders that he is to be taken to the slave quarters and orders Lorena to kill him. Sookie vows to kill Lorena if she kills Bill. Lorena responds “I'd love to see you try. Without that sanctimonious little *** Godric to save you,
I would love to rip you open and wear your rib cage as a hat,” and she leaves.

Arlene is complaining about customers not tipping her (reference from Epi #5) and cuts her finger in her carelessness. Jessica notices and Arlene panics pleading to her “Please don't kill me – I'm pregnant! That probably makes you want to eat me even more.”  She scoots away from Jessica who drops her head to her hands saying she hasn't eaten all day.

Jason and Crystal are enjoying a late night heavy petting session at the pond. As the action begins to heat up and they are becoming more and physical Jason says “Don't hurt me. Or do. I don't care.” This upsets Crystal who tells Jason that she isn't into any “pervert stuff.” Jason back peddles and saves himself by saying “I meant don't break my heart.” Crystal cries and Jason comforts her. Crystal abruptly looks up as she catches a scent and bolts, leaving Jason standing there alone very confused... (which is pretty common for Jason)

Eric ans Sookie are having a conversation. Sookie asks Eric if he lied when he said he cared. He tells her that she meant nothing to him. Russell enters buckling his belt apologizing for the delay by saying “a husbands work is never done,” and asks Eric to leave.

The last customer of the night won't leave. She is a middle aged woman there alone and  is taking her time eating and being very picky about every little thing. Jessica goes to the customer and glamours her into thinking she is done eating and she wants to leave every dollar in her wallet as a tip. She tells the woman that she wants to leave, but she needs to stop by the ladies room on the way out. Jessica is waiting for her in the bathroom and you hear the woman scream once and then nothing.

Lafayette and Jesus are talking, getting to know each other a little better. Jesus reveals that his mother was raped resulting in his birth. They continue chatting until Jesus asks if he can kiss Lafayette. Lafayette hesitates and tells Jesus that he has a strict “no sex on the first date” policy. But then he gives up and they begin kissing.

Russell is attempting to question Sookie, but instead she bargains with him telling him that she'll answer one question of his if he'll answer one of hers. She then leaps into her questioning and asks “Are you the king of all the vampires?” He replies that he is not and asks her what she is – is she human and if she knows if her parents were her parents. She tells him that she can hear thoughts but reveals nothing else. She begs for Bills life. Russell gives her the file Bill has been keeping on her then asks about the light. Sookie admits that she has no idea what it was or how it happened.

Lorena has Bill tied to the floor with silver chains. His shirt is off and she is looking at a table of various surgical instruments. She takes a scalpel and very slowly slices a deep cut down the center of his chest. She slices her finger and mixes their blood together on Bill's chest and says to him “Even as you face True Death I will be inside you.” Bill is in obvious pain, but he says to her that he would like to have known her before she was changed.

Tara convinces Franklin to untie her by telling him that she wants to experience one more memorable night of amazing sex as a human. He believes her and unties her. Tara very slowly raises to him and begins kissing him. She then begins biting his neck and Franklin is overcome with passion.

Russell forces Queen Sophie-Anne into accepting a proposal and Talbot is stunned. He stomps off upstairs mumbling in his native language.
Russell and Eric have a conversation in the library in which Russell shares his plans for domination over humans with Eric, explaining that he agreed with Hitler that there was a master race — “just not the human race.” Eric swears allegiance to him now that Sophie-Anne has admitted to setting him up,

We find out that the big secret with Sam's mother is that while in her shifted state as a dog, she was  fighting in an illegal dog ring. But now her back’s given out and they have been having Tommy fight to support the family
Jason finds out where Crystal lives and shows up at her house with flowers to apologize for what happened at the pond. He is met at the door by a man stating that he is Crystal's fiancee and she denies knowing Jason. Jason leaves very frustrated and comes across the obnoxious high school jock from the other night at the bar. He and his girl are in the middle of a tryst in the backseat. Jason breaks up the party and threatens to take him to jail for having sex in a public place. He finally leaves him with a warning.

Jesus finds out that Lafayette is a drug dealer and breaks up with him.

At daybreak when all the vamps are “asleep” Tara slowly eases out of bead and uses some type of spiked club to literally beat Franklin into a bloody pulp. His head is completely caved in before Tara leaves. However we notice that the body is still completely intact. She did not stake him in her hurry to flee the home. We see Tara running for her life across the lawn. Then we see a wolf chasing her as in her previous escape attempt. The scene cuts away as he leaps on her and she screams.

This episode had a lot of trails to follow. We've got the continuing plight of Jessica who's been left on her own to figure out how to survive. Sam is coming to grips with his completely dysfunctional family. Eric is plotting to avenge the death of his father while trying to free Pam, clear his name, and convince the King of his loyalty. Tara is trying to escape from her kidnapper. All while Sookie is attempting to free Bill.

I love the book series, but the show is beginning to wear on my poor Attention Deficient brain!

What are your thoughts on this week's episode?
