Vampire Diaries: Chapter 15 Written by Krystal
As soon as Stefan dropped Elena at home he made his way to the woods. Parking his car by Old Creek Road, he retraced his steps to the clearing where he had seen the crow on his first day of school. Using his hunter instincts, he found the clearing and used the Power to probe for Damon’s presence and for the first time since coming to Fell’s Church he felt the flicker of a reply. Unable to locate the presence, Stefan sighed, turned, and stopped dead at the sight of Damon standing before him.
Damon says that he has been keeping track of Stefan over the years, but Stefan wouldn’t know that due to diet and lack of power. Admitting that he had taken the life of Mr. Tanner that evening, Damon mentions Elena. Full of anger, Stefan tells him to stop spying on Elena and stay away from her. Damon calls Stefan selfish, his one flaw, and mentions that Elena is much more generous; in fact she nearly gave herself to him when they first met. Stefan tries to deny that Elena would do that, but Damon just continues saying that she’s not sweet and docile like Katherine; there’s a spirit and fire inside her that Stefan couldn’t handle. Annoyed at Damon’s arrogance, Stefan agrees that Elena is strong; so strong in fact that she fought Damon off once before and now that she knows what he is, she feels nothing but disgust toward him. Mocking Stefan, Damon mentions that he fed well tonight and demonstrates the strength and speed that human blood provides him with. Damon boasts that he has the Old Powers and isn’t afraid to use them, so Stefan should stay out of his way when it concerns Elena or he will die. Not afraid of Damon’s threats, Stefan suggests that he can try and so Damon attacks him.
Unable to fight Damon off, Stefan went limp for an instant before making another break for it, but Damon was there holding him tightly. Damon eyed his brother’s face and the jerked Stefan’s head back exposing his throat. Stefan tried to struggle again, but Damon just mocked him and then bit down on Stefan’s throat, drawing blood. After some time, Damon let Stefan go and he fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Damon, once again, stated his claim on Elena and told Stefan that he’d best stay out of it. Stefan got to his feet as he proclaimed that Elena was not Damon’s and she never would be. He began to walk away, every step harder and harder in his weakened state, but he would make it to his car. Step by step Stefan told himself that the car couldn’t be far, but when he heard leaves crack behind him he turned around, but saw only a sharp motion before he plunged into darkness.

Memorable Quotes
Stefan: “So,” said Stefan heavily, “it is true. It’s been a long time, brother.” Damon: “Not as long as you think, brother.” (Page 241)
Damon: “On, no, dear brother. I never lie about anything important. Or do I mean unimportant? Anyway, your beauteous damsel nearly swooned into my arms. I think she likes men in black.” As Stefan stared at him, trying to control his breathing, Damon added, almost gently, “You’re wrong about her, you know. You think she’s sweet and docile, like Katherine. She isn’t. She’s not you type at all, my saintly brother. She has a spirit and a fire in her that you wouldn’t know what to do with.” (Page 242)

Vampire Diaries: Chapter 16 Written by Krystal
As Elena rushed to school, she felt last night had been a distant memory. She had arrived home to find Aunt Judith in hysterics over new of the murder and Elena’s vanishing act. All Elena could tell her was that she was with Stefan and the rest had to remain a secret. Now she had woken up late for school and rushed through the empty streets. She wanted to see Stefan, for her nightmares about him were so real, especially the one where he held her diary up with accusing eyes, dropped the book and walked away as she called after him. She ran up the steps of the high school and headed straight toward foreign language, Stefan’s class, but he was not inside. Taken aback by his disappearance, Elena continued on to trigonometry and entered. Everyone turned to face her and she slipped hastily into the empty desk next to Meredith. The teacher took a moment to acknowledge Elena’s entrance, non-verbally, and then continued with the lesson. Meredith immediately asked if Elena was ok, but all she could do was ask about Stefan. Apparently, the police had gone to the boarding house early this morning and found him missing and his car abandoned by Old Creek Road. Meredith mentions that everyone things Stefan is fleeing from guilt, but Elena replies he would never leave of his own free will and something clicks. Standing up in the middle of class, Elena proclaims that, “God help him if he’s hurt Stefan,” and rushed from class.
Leaving the school, Elena raced toward Old Creek Road and then headed toward the cemetery. An icy wind snapped her hair across her face and the tree branches lashed together wildly. It was as if the graveyard itself didn’t want her there, but she ignored it and shouted Damon’s name to the wind.

Elena: “Forced him, or worse,” Elena interrupted. The entire class was staring at them now, and Ms. Halpern was opening her mouth. Elena stood up suddenly, looking at them without seeing. “God help him if he’s hurt Stefan,” she said. “God help him.” Then she whirled and made for the door. (Page 252)
